When Everybody is Nobody

Arguably the four worst starts to any sentence:-

(1) Nobody

“Nobody” says the chairman, “wants to work”. This blatantly untrue. I am at the meeting because I want to work, I want to get involved.

(2) Everybody

“Everybody”, they say, “exceeds the seed limit on the highway”. Not true. I have learned that driving at, or two points below the speed limit, makes me almost the slowest vehicle on the highway, and that means I can exercise some control over every car speeding on its arrival behind me.

(3) Most People

Well, I am not most people; I am only one member of the human race. I suppose that “Most people are born with two arms and two legs” can be said to apply to me, but at some time during my high school years, books grew to be only slightly less important than dodo to me.

(4) Many People

Many people (in Canada) watch TV. I don’t own a TV. Make your own judgment.
